The Jeddah-to-Madinah transfer follows Highway 60, also known as the Madinah Road, one of the Kingdom's major north-south arterial routes. This highway is wider and straighter than the alternative routes through the Hejazi mountains, resulting in a quicker journey time of approximately 3.5 hours.

After leaving Jeddah's northern suburbs, the highway crosses through the vast coastal plains before ascending gently onto the Arabian plateau. The landscape is characterised by open desert vistas, scattered acacia trees, and the occasional camel herd visible from the road.

The town of Rabigh serves as a natural midpoint and is home to several well-equipped rest stations. Muslim travellers heading to Makkah often enter Ihram at the Rabigh Miqat, but since this journey heads to Madinah, passengers can relax and enjoy the stop for refreshments and prayer only.

Highway 60 has been extensively upgraded in recent years, with improved lighting, crash barriers, and regular patrol points. Service stations appear every 50-80 kilometres, ensuring you are never far from fuel, food, or facilities.

Arriving in Madinah, the highway transitions into wide urban boulevards that lead toward the city centre. Your driver will navigate directly to your hotel, whether it is located adjacent to Masjid an-Nabawi in the central district or in the residential areas further out.
